“I went into the course not really sure how much it’d help me… I felt my style was pretty developed and that all of the work that was laid out by the course plan was stuff I’d already done on my own in a sense. I joined after emailing Rita asking about a few things, and in the end, I decided to join because if nothing else, I figured that I’d get a community out of it.

The course was so much more than I expected–having the support of other people who loved clothing and felt the impact of style in their lives as deeply as I did was incredibly validating, and having a space to share without worrying about feeling frivolous for caring was incredibly healing for me.

I loved working with Rita and Nicky and seeing my coursemates and myself grow! I learned so many things through the discussions we had about all things style and beyond, and taking the course helped my style flourish in a way that I wouldn’t have expected pre-course.”

What is The Leap about?

We believe style should be joyful. Style should serve you — even if it can be a struggle at times, at the end of the day (or year!) you should gain more from your wardrobe than it costs you.

We designed The Leap because we believe personal style is a journey. It doesn’t need to be *complicated*, but it can be *hard* because it takes consistent commitment and effort. We designed and worked with 3 principles that we believe will help you to achieve a lasting and positive change to your style:

  1. Taking enough time to allow for change to happen
  2. Putting in consistent medium effort
  3. Connecting with a like-minded community

The Leap will guide you in connecting with your own inner spark of joy and make tangible and very real changes to your closet. The course will offer new insights through thoughtful reflection questions and clear structure through plans and exercises. On top of that the online (private) community will offer a safe place for connection, sharing, and growing.

“One of my favorite things about the way the course is designed is how it challenged me to think about what I want out of style, and helped me create a plan with actionable steps on how to achieve my goals. I think taking the Leap seemed intimidating at first but the exercises and weekly modules broke it down into bite-sized chunks. Having that time and a structured schedule really helped and made me feel like I could actually achieve my original goal of being able to put together outfits I liked.”

Elizabeth ⬩ Cohort 2

“Rita and Nicky did a magnificent job designing this course. Everyone starts on a level playing field no matter where you are with your style. Each week’s exercises and prompts are meant to build momentum as you do them, and before you know it, you have a very clear picture of your style dreams/vision with actionable steps to get there.”

“Just before the course, I was buying things and returning them and buying and returning, without a clear enough vision. The course gave me that vision, and now I know what to buy and how to wear it.”

For me the most beneficial result of the Leap Course has been how I was able to get in touch with my “core” self, to discover what I really want to wear on my body, whether it be the physical sensation or the emotional connection I have to the clothes. It has really been a labor of love, the discovery of what I love and and to love myself enough to honor it; that it doesn’t have be the ideal color or a particular aesthetic.

The course takes one on a journey of self discovery, one that never ends…there is no final destination that will solve all your style problems, you will learn it is okay to listen your true self wherever it takes you. I also enjoyed the camaraderie with my fellow Leap course students, how different we all are yet the support we give to each other to follow our own path; that it is not about how well we follow certain style rules but about marching to our own drummer.

I also want to thank our teachers Rita and Nicky for their gentle guidance, inspiration and encouragement. The care they put into the design of the course was just the right mix to challenge us but also give us breathing room to work on the exercises at our own pace.

I was initially kind of hesitant to even reach out to Rita and start working with her in the first place, because I had found her through YouTube videos and I was afraid that the situation would be awkward or weird. Luckily, Rita is exactly the same person in videos as she is in person: incredibly smart and observant, so sweet and kind, and she was able to give helpful advice for the place I’m at in my life—specific to my needs and preferences.

I had a GG call with her in the summer and when the fall leap course was announced I wasn’t really sure I wanted to join. I was scared to be vulnerable with strangers on the internet and feel like I was failing publicly. In a video Rita was talking about the leap and she said something like, “it’s not that you can’t do the work that we do in the leap by yourself, it’s that this is an expedited process and instead of growing your style slowly over a couple of years you can use the tools and focus to grow your style in a couple of months.” hearing that I knew that it was the right choice for me.

I needed a push to get out of the rut I was in. And in the end, to no one’s surprise, the thing I feared the most—sharing my style journey with other people in the course turned out to be the best part about it. I know I’m going to be friends with people after the course is over and that I’m excited to see how people keep growing post-leap.

I just finished the Leap Course, and I highly recommend it. I came into the course hoping to personalize my wardrobe and get ready for a few upcoming events. Years ago, I had a closet full of pieces I loved. I enjoyed wearing vintage and edgy styles. Time passed, my body changed, and I found myself needing to rebuild my closet.

I poked around in a few style systems, learning cuts of clothing and colors that suit me best. Those were helpful in picking out clothes, but there was still something missing. I could pick out outfits that were technically suitable, but I would still sometimes feel uncomfortable in my clothes.

The Leap Course reconnected me with inspiration, an embodied experience of
dressing, and a desire for creative expression through style. I came to understand how much I value contrast and patterns, shoes with ankle straps, variety, and comfortable pants. I was able to identify frustrating gaps in my wardrobe, and with guidance go find pieces that are both practical and coherent with my other clothes and overall vibe. One of the coolest things is that in the future when I’m struggling in my closet, I’ll have practical steps to move forward and find garments I love that function well for me.

I liked the class structure. The exercises were clear and helpful, and the community has been super supportive. There is so much kindness and possibility here. I appreciated the smaller, private group for testing out new clothes and processing personal style choices. It was lovely seeing the different goals we each had, and the many ways success showed up for us during the course.

All in all, I’d say it was a 10/10!

Laura

When I first signed up for the Leap I felt like I was stuck in a style rut. I really struggled to put together outfits I liked, and often felt like I had nothing to wear even though I had a lot of clothes! After taking the Leap I don’t feel stuck anymore, and have come to love my wardrobe and the outfits I put together.

One of my favorite things about the way the course is designed is how it challenged me to think about what I want out of style, and helped me create a plan with actionable steps on how to achieve my goals. I think taking the Leap seemed intimidating at first but the exercises and weekly modules broke it down into bite-sized chunks. Having that time and a structured schedule really helped and made me feel like I could actually achieve my original goal of being able to put together outfits I liked.

But The Leap is also much deeper than just creating pretty outfits. In the course, you uncover your dreams and aspirations. I feel like I learned so much about myself, which was crazy to me because I already had a good sense of who I am. But there were a ton of things regarding the way I dressed that I never questioned or thought much about before. And taking the time to think more deeply about my own style gave me a lot of insight into my goals and the type of person I want to become.

Now I feel like getting dressed up lights me up and the outfits I create make me really happy. I am so glad I took this course, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to take their own style to the next level.

from an Outsider

I’ve done a lot of research on style and style systems and I’ve also done a similar costing style course before by a professional stylist. But I didn’t feel I ever made a breakthrough or received the info and help I needed to feel good about the direction my style was taking. Feeling the need to close this gap and feel truly confident with my style direction, I took this course.

And it truly exceeded my expectations!

I wanted to grow through the course and also to learn the info I need to keep growing beyond the course. I wanted to build style habits and to make real progress in my wardrobe and styling processes. Rita and Nicky truly helped me to do all of this and more! They really are holding your hand and walking you through every step you need to make progress in your style. I feel that I now have access to the style habits processes that will help me!!

The community has been amazing beyond words. Everyone made it so fun. And since the course is 3 months long, I was able to get soo much out of it. I don’t think you will find anything like this anywhere else. Quality and quantity will exceed expectations! The Leap ⬩ Cohort 2

Rita and Nicky did a magnificent job designing this course. Everyone starts on a level playing field no matter where you are with your style. Each week’s exercises and prompts are meant to build momentum as you do them, and before you know it, you have a very clear picture of your style dreams/vision with actionable steps to get there.

The community aspect was the best part for me. My cohort is AMAZING! We’re all so different but bonded over our shared goals. Sharing our outfits, doing the exercises together, and supporting each other through our triumphs and struggles in a safe space, made the experience so much more rewarding and fun. That’s coming from a person who normally hates group work lol.

I learned so much about myself…my hopes and dreams, my struggles, and most importantly, my strengths and courage. I had my fair share of challenges throughout the course but none that I didn’t overcome. I’m walking away a much better version of myself. I’m so much more confident. My style feels personal and authentic. I have new style friends. Everything I hoped to get out of this course happened because I said yes.

To anyone reading this that’s on the fence, I can confidently say this will be a life-changing experience, a complete game changer! Rita and Nicky are geniuses and will provide all the resources and tools you need to succeed. You get what you put in.

The STBR Taking the Leap course has helped me exactly the way I hoped it would: through practical and easy to implement exercises that noticeably improve my style experience in a relatively short amount of time.

The course is well structured and the exercises, although challenging at times, are designed to make you think in fresh new ways about crafting your personal image. For me the Style Dreams exercise especially was a true game changer, it helped me uncover subconscious desires that not only immensely uplifted my mood, but also instantly upgraded my style expression as well after implementing.

As with anything else, the more time you dedicate to working on the course material the more you’ll get out of it, and personally I’m so happy that I allocated several hours each week to work on the exercises. The efforts are paying off manifold already, and I’m getting stopped by strangers more frequently as well to snap a photo or compliment my outfit.

If you are serious about taking your style to the next level and are willing to do the work it takes then this course is an excellent guide for that process.

Loved the course. Like everything Rita and Nicky do, it’s well thought through, properly structured, with a lot of information and exercises that will yield results if you put in the work (it does require work, and that’s a great thing). The format is really open-ended and helps self-discovery, which I appreciated.

Basically, you get to ask yourself very insightful questions, and work through the answers with a group of people who are doing the same thing. I got to find my own end result, and I also got the tools to adjust that, if there’s ever a need. The community was wonderful (and helped me see things from a variety of perspectives) and Rita and Nicky were supportive when I got stuck.

This framework really freed me from the confines of other systems, and allowed me to look the way I REALLY want to look. If you’re after your own thing and focused on having something that works for you, rather than fitting into boxes… This is for you!

I went into The Leap thinking I’d find a better style…but I actually uncovered a deeper part of myself that had been hiding away for years. Rita and Nicky are certified geniuses, and the course helped me think about my clothes and style and self in a completely new way.

As someone who had already been down the Kibbe/color season rabbit hole before joining I still got so much out of the group support and feedback. Thank you guys so much!”

Making Style Magic Together

Your hosts: Rita & Nicky

What brought the two of us together was our belief in the magical power of style. Our understanding that style is never “just clothes” but about so much more – the way we feel about ourselves, the way we show up the world, the way we connect with others, the life that we’re building.

With the Leap we want to make the unique magic of style accessible for you. Not through some grandiose magical way, but with small digestible steps that you can implement in the life you are actually living today.

Your closet, your wardrobe, your style should serve you — and we are here to help you figure out what this “style that serves you” means and how to achieve it. With joy and excitement we invite you to join us on a journey of transformation.

Is the Leap for me?

Our participants say it better than we ever can, but if you want a simple checklist this paragraph is for you. If you relate to one or more items on the list The Leap is here to help!

You desire

To figure out what your dream style is and how it makes sense for you

To bring more structure and intention to your style choices

To work with your Style Key and celebrate your unique beauty

To bring more joy and energy to the process of getting dressed

To make a real and lasting change in your personal style approach

To connect with like-minded people

Typical struggles

You are missing structure or a plan to your style approach

Dealing with style tends to be stressful, overwhelming or just not satisfying

You don't know how to integrate the things that inspire you (or what inspires you to begin with)

Style sometimes feels like an itch you can't scratch. Nothing is wrong, but it is also not 100% right

Shopping never quite gives you the results you want

Elizabeth

A gift that keeps on giving…

I am so much happier and comfortable in my skin. I feel a connection with my whole being. I’m present, smile and laugh easily, more confident in difficult situations, and open to new experiences. Even on days I’m not feeling my best, I know how to choose outfits that best support me.

I tried to convince myself I didn’t really need to take this course. Time, money, and effort were all major factors. I’m a busy mom and wife with a demanding job. We just bought a home a few months back and were barely settled in while working on various home renovations and projects. How could I possibly carve out more time? Shouldn’t I be focusing on other more important things? That felt like the responsible choice BUT I wanted more for myself. I was already feeling the positive impacts of developing my style on my own but still had this gnawing feeling I had barely scratched the surface. I wanted to take it to the next level but wasn’t able to define what that looked like for me…until I took the Leap.

Frequently Asked Questions

And Our Answers

What is included in The Leap?

The Leap course lasts for 12 weeks (Jan 15 – Apr 7 2024) and offers 1-2 exercises and 2-5 reflection questions each week. The materials and guidance include:

  • a 116 page workbook with 16 exercises and ±50 reflection questions
  • 12 Audio recordings for weekly guidance (+ scripts)
  • 9 group calls (+ recordings)
  • Access to the private online Leap community for your Cohort

Jenny Rae (Cohort 1) said,

I thought the price was great for a course that gave me workbooks, eye-opening exercises, dedicated space and time to explore style, and, perhaps best of all, a close and warm community of people on parallel journeys.”

Ren (Cohort 2) added,

“I loved working with Rita and Nicky and seeing my coursemates and myself grow! I learned so many things through the discussions we had about all things style and beyond, and taking the course helped my style flourish in a way that I wouldn’t have expected pre-course. The questions I was presented by the course and the time I was given to answer them taught me so many new things about what I could be and how style could help me embody that favorite self, and I’m so grateful I took it.”

Do I need to know my Style Key?

Yes, the course is structured around the different Style Logics so you will need to choose your Key to work with the materials in the course. Rita will offer her Gentle Guidance sessions during the course at a discount for participants who struggle to pick a Key to work with.

How are the group calls organized?

During the course we host a total of 9 group calls. These calls are divided between 4 interactive Q&As and “sharing your experiences” calls hosted by Rita, 3 inspirational “workshop” calls hosted by Nicky and the “welcome & goodbye” calls at the beginning and end of the course.

You can view the group call schedule in our course PDF (available on this page). The calls are held via Zoom and are recorded for all participants. The calls are nice to attend, but they are not necessary for enjoyment or progress in the course.

How is the online community set up?

The community is hosted on the Mighty Networks platform. The community is private and only accessible for members. Within the community you can share posts and thoughts through the available forum boards and chat rooms (including private messaging).

Your posts and commmunity boards are only accessible for the people of your Cohort. The community will stay open indefinitely after the course’s ending. If we decide to close the community, we will notify you ahead of time to give you the opportunity to save important contributions.

Mighty Networks is accessible through both desktop and has mobile apps for Android and iPhone. The platform might take a bit to get used to, but we have a walkthrough with pictures to get you started and we are very available to help you with any technical issues!

Do I need to participate in the online community?

Yes! Not just because the course is designed for group-based learning, but because participants consistently get the most value out of the course when they connect on the community platform.

Elizabeth (Cohort 2) wrote,

If you are uncomfortable with posting on an online platform, please be assured you are not alone in this! You can also share outfit photos without your face on it, or even start with just describing the clothes. We are here to meet you where you are. We also want to emphasize the community is private and “what is shared in the leap, stays in the leap”.

Soto (Cohort 2) described it as,

When the fall leap course was announced I wasn’t really sure I wanted to join. I was scared to be vulnerable with strangers on the internet and feel like I was failing publicly. (…) in the end, to no one’s surprise, the thing I feared the most—sharing my style journey with other people in the course turned out to be the best part about it.”

Jennifer (Cohort 1) said,

“I was a little shy at first to post my outfits because I thought they were really “bad” and “not worthy” of posting but the community was very supportive in helping me come out of my style shell. I  learned that I can be an introverted person with an extroverted and very extra style and I would not have gotten there without the help of the style community.”

How much style experience do I need?

The course is designed to meet you where you are. It is designed to be simple, straight-forward and easy to grasp. It does not require a minimum level of style experience. If you want to get more intimately acquainted with your closet and style journey, The Leap is for you.

Our focus is to help you find more joy in your experience with style. This can be done anywhere on your journey. Wether you are just getting started, or just have that one type of occasion that you can’t seem to figure out.

Our secret is that we ask simple questions that tend to trigger profound answers. It is a bit like being a snowball rolling down a mountain. It doesn’t really matter how big you are at the beginning, it is all about create momentum and becoming bigger. The Leap will help you to create momentum.

On top of that it is always easier to do things together. Your Cohort will give you the support you need, no matter where you are on your journey.

How much time will I need to participate?

The course is built around putting in medium consistent effort. We are asking you to do two weekly check-ins (sharing an outfit picture and a description that can be as short or as long as you want, so this can be anywhere between 5 minutes and 1 hour) and do 1-2 style related exercises (typically we say to reserve 20 minutes per exercise).

People that really enjoy the reflection questions and online community typically spend more time. People that have very busy lives or prefer to go with the flow without over-analyzing will spend less time. Neither is better than the other: the course will give you what you need.

Ren (Cohort 2) said,

While it was challenging to actually make myself do the activities sometimes, and it was hard to make time to do them, it’s been valuable for me to learn to make the time I need to feel satisfied with my style on a day-to-day basis. With the clear vision I have now from doing the exercises and having discussions about my style needs, I feel way more prepared to take on my future style endeavor.”

Gabi (Cohort 1), wrote,

How much money will I need to spend?

The course is focused on creating new style habits and a sustainable style vision for yourself. We specifically want to help you create new looks, but you can do this by working with things you already have and getting just a few additional pieces.

It is helpful to think about a budget that allows you to buy some additional pieces for your wardrobe (let’s say around 10 items, but the exact number differs per person) over the course of 6 weeks. If you have budget-constrains, we encourage you to look at second-hand options.

What if I fall behind or need to miss a few weeks?

We know that 3 months is a long time – as long as you plan ahead, you won’t fall behind in a bad way if you have to miss a week. However, the course does require a consistent time commitment so make sure you have the time, space and energy in your schedule!

Our online community space will stay open after the course for all participants, which will give you the opportunity to catch up after the formal ending date of the course as well.

If unforeseen circumstances show up during the course that will keep you from participating all together, please reach out to us at any time — we can discuss possibilities to transfer you to a future group.

How much personal support can I expect during the course?

Our course is designed for group-based learning and we do not offer individual feedback.

However, if you have simple “under 5 minute” questions, you can shoot us an email or chat message at any time, we are more than happy to help! There will also be plenty of opportunity to discuss longer questions in the Q&A sessions, where we can help with shopping and styling.

If you are looking for more personalized or in-depth guidance for your style journey,
we both offer 30 minutes calls at reduced rates.

What about pricing and refunds?

The Leap course (Jan-Apr 2024) costs 338$ (297$ for early birds joining by December 31st, prices for the course are including VAT). Select the Pay Deposit option to pay in two instalments of 169$ (the second payment is due Jan 29).

You can cancel your purchase and receive a full refund any time before the course starts (Jan 15). If you decide the course is not for you, we can offer a 212$ refund in the first two weeks. Refunds will not be available after Jan 28.

If unforeseen circumstances show up during the course, please reach out to us at any time — we can discuss possibilities to transfer you to a future group.

In the course plan we summarized all the organisational details on the course, including the course goals, the weekly agenda, group call calendar, full testimonials and additional information on 1:1 guidance.
