“Style is about making your desired impression on the world. Your style helps you feel comfortable shining your brightest light.”

Sapphire

How style supports you

Your style helps you show up with confidence, to take space, to be heard and seen. Looking good is important, but for you style is more than that. Working with your style helps you to live your best life and to be true to yourself. You have an inspiring, dreamy, refined essence and prefer a style that is high on effort, glamour, and drama. You may believe that you need to “tone it down”, but your style is best when you just let yourself go for it. You are an intense person and your best style matches that intensity.

Your style energy is best focused on the shopping and design phase. You invest energy in creating your style persona, finding unique pieces and putting together cohesive outfits. After that, the daily process of getting dressed tends to be straightforward and simple. Your style explorations are about being bold and finding styles that help you bring your message into the world.

Please Note: finding your Key is not always about matching where you are today to the description on the page. The goal is to choose the Key that will best serve you in bringing out your essence and creating your best style. You might strongly resonate with this quadrant’s ideas, archetypes, or keywords, but you haven’t been following the style logic or allowing yourself to fully explore and experience this side of your essence. That’s okay! If this Key is speaking to you, start working with it and see where it takes you.

Keywords

Finding your flavour

You can use the keywords, or keyword combinations, as inspiration or helpful guidance. You can use any keywords that call to you: don’t overthink it.

Up: mysterious, extravagant, glamorous, dramatic, effort, persona, intimidating
Right: dreamy, inspiring, radiant, luminous, refined, the Sun

Recognize yourself in most of these statements?

My favorite outfits have typically been special occasions where I could go all out. Or they're fantasy outfits I wish I *could* have worn.

It really helps me to work with complete outfits. It's hard for me to evaluate individual pieces until I see the total picture I want to create.

I sometimes worry that if I dress the way I want, I'm taking up too much space or standing out too much.

Minimal styling does not work for me. In more understated styles (what looks "normal" on others), I feel invisible and even meek. People don't treat me the way I want.

I like some “classic” elements in my clothes like tailoring, clean geometric lines, symmetry, harmonious color schemes or neat details.

My outfits need to be harmonious: the colors, textures, shapes all “belong” together to some extent. When it's not cohesive, the outfit doesn’t look cool and creative, it just looks off.

I like my clothes to be expressive and creative, but if I go too “experimental” it can look off and inauthentic.

I can work with many different aesthetics, as long as it makes sense to me. I don’t like feeling “unbalanced” or having too much contrast between the different parts of my outfit.

Style is strategic - I enjoy thinking about what I want my clothes to help me accomplish in a given situation.

Style Logic

Your decision strategy

Inspiration: Outside World. When choosing an outfit or planning your wardrobe, you consider the outside world. What’s important about your environment? What are the practical details? Look deeper into the situation: What’s important to me in this situation or environment? How do I want to share myself here? How do I want to be seen?

Goal: Successful Communication. You might feel conflicted about it, but being received by other people is fundamental to your sense of style success. What’s the impression you want to make, the message you want your clothes to send? What textures, what colors, what pieces send that message? Start there. If your clothes help you feel safe and confident claiming your place in the world. – you’re doing great!

The Archetypes

An Archetype is like your own flavor of the key, a personal guide on your style journey. It helps you understand your style priorities but it only makes sense to use in combination with your style key: you cannot use the Archetypes independently. You may use multiple Archetypes, but we generally recommend to start with one and see where it takes you.

The Role Model

What’s important in your external world ? Your style expression needs to be grounded in your reality, or you feel disoriented and uncomfortable. But you are meant to go further than what’s expected. You are not a Role Follower, you are a Role Model, who is meant to live your own version of the role. Design your vision and own it. When you achieve this balance between the expected and the desired, it is fundamentally inspiring

The Playful Dame / Princess

This Archetype helps you bring the beauty and sparkles into the world through your style. You are a person who values the sensation of harmony (outfit cohesion, harmony with your body, harmony with the world, with your self). You also have a need for things to be a bit extra, for the glamour and drama. It’s your right – and you’re here to show us that refinement and glamour never need to be heavy, stiff or dull. They are allowed to be like you – joyful, creative, and light.

The Priestess

For you, style makes the most sense through the lens of service. This might be in your community and personal roles, or in a wider professional context. You have a very strong energetic influence on situations, and dressing for the part allows you to make the contribution you desire, to share your gifts with the world. Your goal is to find a style that honors you in all parts of life, from the most sacred to the mundane.

The Power

You are meant to have a commanding and influencing presence, own it and celebrate it. This Archetype helps you be confident in using style to your advantage. When it comes to style, it’s important for you to be strategic. You always want to think about your audience and your context – and then be as honest as you can with yourself about your desires and goals. Style can help you get everything you want.

The Icon

This Archetype is helpful in accessing your inner *it* factor. People using this archetype typically go through a journey of learning to be comfortable with (and even enjoying!) to receive attention for their style. Your style is a visual extension of your contribution to this world – whether that’s personal or professional. You do best when you cultivate an aesthetic that’s not quite belonging to your specific place and time, but rather channeling a flavor that’s uniquely you.

Your Energetic Medicine,

In the Style Key, every essence has their own “Energetic Medicine.” It’s a healthy style habit, the attitude that helps you approach style in a healing and empowering way.

For Sapphire, that medicine is “Luxury.” The best thing you can do is to approach style as a way of giving yourself special things which are not necessary, but simply desired. This doesn’t mean you need to start shopping exclusively at Chanel, or even that you need to be spending lots of money on style.

It means that you should learn to give to yourself, and to notice where you’re holding back and forcing yourself to be and desire less. For example, luxury says: “I want to spend four hours researching the perfect shade of red lipstick to match my favorite winter coat.” Or, “I’m allowed to wear beautiful lounge clothes even when I’m the only one who sees them.” It can be something momentous like “I’m going to upgrade all of my lingerie so it feels special.” It could be something so small like “I’m going to wear my favorite perfume even though it’s not a special occasion.”

The medicine of Luxury acts as an antidote to your tendency to shrink and to make yourself smaller or more neutral. It’s about shifting your focus whenever you feel that you’re not good enough or you don’t deserve the things you love. Luxury reminds you to encourage your biggest dreams and desires and to fulfill them. It reminds you that you are meant to be high-maintenance when it comes to style, and that this quality is your gift. What’s luxurious to you does not need to be luxury to someone else. The important thing is that style feels like a special treat, something that lifts you up and encourages you to take space. Focusing on luxury lets you bring more joy and self-love to the style process.

Not your key?

Amethyst

Try this key if you like the idea of a dramatic and glamorous style, but your best style inspiration comes from your internal state and imagery. If your best style is about creating a sense of tension and intrigue.

Ruby

Try this key if you prefer to work with internal inspiration (your moods, your body, your internal state) and to create outfit primarily for your own experience rather than for your audience. If the Sapphire description feels wholly foreign.

Moonstone

Try this key if you love the idea of starting from the outside world and finding inspiration within, but you want to focus on your own experience, not the contribution.
